Is your health coverage changing from Medi-Cal to Covered California?

On April 1, 2023, California started the Medi-Cal redetermination process. If you were previously enrolled in Medi-Cal and it was determined that you are no longer eligible, you may have been automatically enrolled into a Covered California plan with Valley Health Plan (VHP). With VHP, you can receive quality, affordable health coverage, but you still need to take action now to start your health benefits. 

If you received a letter from Covered California regarding your new health plan, please complete one of the three options below:

  1. Keep the plan selected for you!
  1. Change your plan
  • If you would like to keep Covered California, but want to change to a different health plan or explore options, contact VHP for assistance at 408-885-3560 or at [email protected].
  1. Cancel your plan
  • If you wish to cancel the plan that Covered California has selected for you, you can visit your online account and cancel the plan at: http://coveredca.com/new-plan. Keep in mind, health insurance is mandatory in California. Individuals and families without health insurance may face tax penalties unless they have an exemption. Please note: If you do not opt-in, pay your bill (if applicable), or cancel your plan, then your plan will be canceled after the date indicated on the letter you received from Covered California.
